When it comes to Microsoft Word, I am not very experienced. Other than making my annual Christmas list, I would never use the program. All throughout high school, we would use school issued Chromebooks. Thus, the only programs we would use would be Google Docs and Google Slides. I am much more comfortable with Google Docs and I like that you can access it through a Google account, whether than having to download the program to your device.

The standard that is most meaningful to me is 2.5: Designer. For this standard, educators design activities and environments for their students that are subject to learning variability. The designs are learner-driven to ensure an authentic learning experience. This is important for K-12 educators because making the learning environment inviting is vital for students and their learning efficiency.

The term "digital native" refers to someone born in the during the age of technology. Those born in this time would be familiar with technology from and early age. Generally, those who are a "digital native" are more tech savvy than "digital immigrants". Digital natives don't know any other way, however digital immigrants lived a life when technology wasn't as prominent. As my teachers were to me, I expect my students to be more well versed in technology when I start teaching.

  1. Hi Jessa.
I also much prefer to use Google Docs over Microsoft Word. It is so much more comfortable!
We also selected the same standard as our most meaningful. I really agree with you on why this standard is very important for educators to have!
