Blog Journal #5
My experience with Twitter so far has been uneventful. I don't use it regularly or for personal use. However, I have interacted with @lrnchat on twitter. I enjoy having a community to turn to and present my thought to. I know Twitter will help with my future career when I want to change up my classroom environment. Whether that be decorations or new classroom precedents.
The digital divide describes the separation of those who do not have access to the internet from those who do. Specifically in schools, this can be a vital part of the learning process. The cause of the digital divide is simply a lack of resources or access to technology. As a future educator, I would like to implement classroom computers so that online work could be done at school. I realize that not every student has the privilege of technology and I would accommodate that.
Academic software for students is essentially any technology application that enhances learning. Two software tools I would like to implement in my future classroom would be Google Classroom and Quizlet Live. Google Classroom is a perfect, user-friendly space to put all assignments, quizzes, and announcements. Quizlet Live allows for students to collaborate by putting them into random teams, and then tests them on their knowledge. This would be helpful to help with studying and working together.
